A joint venture between two of the worlds most respected financial service organisations, SetClear would revolutionise the world of transaction management with systems, processes and people that were simply a quantum leap forward in the industry.
Optimum Development had 90 days to deliver 80 of the best, brightest and most capable individuals Singapore had to offer. These new hires would ensure the success of the SetClear model ... compromising on quality was never an option. The statistics say it all:
- 3,900 applications received in response to a highly innovative ad campaign
- 480 candidates assessed during rigorous half day assessments
- 268 candidates participate in behavioural interviews and reference checks with Optimum consultants
- 91 candidates recommended by Optimum and interviewed by SetClear management
- 80 candidates employed
Optimum partnered with SetClear to define how the developing people strategies, processes, systems and philosophy would translate into its ongoing performance and culture. We had to get it right first time and all within 90 days.
Our solution commenced with a blueprint for the future constructed in close collaboration with the executive team ... what the organisation would look like, be like, feel like ... and how it would interact both internally and externally. It was not only a blueprint for what the organisation would achieve, but how it would be achieved and how each individual would contribute.
With the future state blueprint well defined Optimum was able to cascade this depth of understanding into the competency and capability profile for each role, and construct an assessment process that would enable us to identify with great accuracy the people who would contribute and compliment the vision for the future. Equally important was the ability of each individual to take this start up 'on line' within three months of commencement - this would require people with drive, energy and resilience. The assessment process Optimum designed and delivered was so effective and predictive only seven people recommended by Optimum and interviewed by SetClear were not hired, and even they were a very close fit. Four candidates recommended by Optimum, but not engaged by SetClear withdrew for various reasons.
Optimum assisted SetClear to develop their induction process and performance management system and process linked to the key result areas defined in their future state blueprint and the operational imperatives of their start up phase. We built competency and capability menus for all roles to facilitate a transparent learning culture to support the succession plan. We designed and delivered a leadership development and coaching program for the executive and management group to continually challenge and build individual capability aligned with the future vision.
SetClear went live four months after the hires commenced .... it was a big ask, but they did it ... working together they achieved what was seemingly impossible ... that’s what exceptional people are capable of.
